Updated GYO COVID Protocols!

GYO COVID PROTOCOLS

Our expectation is that all GYO players and coaches follow the protocols below:

●  Face Coverings

  • To be worn over the nose and mouth when around others and not actively engaged in athletics and when social distancing is difficult to maintain.
  • Specifically, face coverings should be worn by players and coaches at practices and games whenever not actively on the field of play (substitutes/sidelines/dugouts)

●  COVID-19 symptoms

  • Parents are required to inform your coaches and refrain from attending games and practices if your child has any of the recognized COVID -19 symptoms including fever of 100.4 degrees F or higher, muscles aches & chills, loss of taste/smell & new respiratory symptoms.
  • Parents are required to inform your coaches and refrain from attending games and practices if your child has come into close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the previous 10 days.

●  Hand Sanitizer, equipment, and general hygiene

  • GYO will provide all coaches with hand sanitizer and use will be encouraged.
  • Parents are encouraged to include hand sanitizer in their child’s personal equipment bag in addition to their own drinks.
  • Spitting and chewing gum will not be allowed – we ask that all parents and coaches remind their children of this requirement.
  • Equipment used by the team will be sanitized following state guidelines as appropriate.
  • Catchers equipment will be issued to an individual player and not be used by another player until they have been appropriately washed/cleaned.

●  At GYO we take these protocols seriously and expect them to be followed throughout the season to ensure that everyone involved with GYO stays as safe as possible. The responsibility for these falls on all of us – GYO, parents, and players. Thank you for your support and for helping us ensure everyone’s health and safety throughout the baseball, softball and t-ball season.
