4th of July

Gilmanton 4th of July Fireworks: Saturday June 29th

at Crystal Lake Park

Every year, Gilmanton has a fireworks show at Crystal Lake Park to celebrate the 4th of July. It's not a fireworks show you'd expect from a small town - in fact, it's pretty awesome!! What you may not know is that this event is also a major GYO fundraiser.

GYO is responsible for all food and drink sales in the snack bar, as well as setting up for, and cleaning up after, the event. We need some parent volunteers to help us out with various positions during this event!

Here's an idea of the positions we need to fill for this event:

  • Set-Up Crew (4 slots) - 3:30 - 6pm
Help set up food stations, wipe down surfaces, rake grill area, rope off lines with caution tape and start food prep.
  • Fried Dough Artisan (2 slots) - 6-11pm
Prepare and cook fried dough. We'll give you a tutorial on dough-stretching techniques and how to fry it up to golden brown perfection.
  • Food Runner (2 slots) - 6-11pm
Receive tickets and fill orders at the pick-up window. Run food from the grill to the sales table.
  • Grill Attendant (4 slots) - 6-11pm
Operate grills for burgers and dogs, also operate external fryers for french fries and onion rings.
  • Food Sales (2 slots) - 5-11pm
Receive orders at the window and provide them to customers.
  • Beverage Table Attendant (1 slot) - 6-11pm
Sell drinks from the satellite beverage table and cooler.
  • Condiment Attendant (1 slot) - 6-11pm
Maintain condiment table (wipe down and restock as needed), and assist the beverage table when necessary.
  • Clean-Up Crew (6 slots) - 8-11am
Help clean up the grounds (trash removal, etc) and clean out kitchen area, packing up any remaining items.
